As they say on sports radio "Long-time listener, first-time caller." ("Long time" means I read "...Brought You Pearl Harbor" in high school in the 70s.) Anyway, I've been lied to by politicians of all faiths (while I was a political reporter, and we both knew they were lying.) So I'm not surprised... but on Andy Griffin: think it was the 1980s I saw a made-for-TV movie where Griffin played a character that could have been Sherriff Taylor's evil big brother. Best thing I've ever seen him in; he played the family-guy owner of a small-town hardware store who was the world's meanest functioning alcoholic. Pillar of the community and the horror of his family. All kinds of lessons about what's behind the mask we show the world, whether you are another crooked politician from Chicago or a crooked "Fortunate son" draft dodger from Texas.
