Light's On

November 21, 2012

Specialists from Looks Great Services of Huntington this week decorated the Lighthouse Tower and Museum in Montauk with thousands of lights in preparation for Saturday’s annual Light the Light event. Held between 4:30 and 7 PM, the popular holiday season kick off is celebrating its fifth year.

This year Montauk School Superintendent Jack Perna has the honor of flipping the switch. He was selected for his years of commitment and service to education in Montauk.

The Light will remain lit every night through January 1, 2013. The rain date for the event is December 1.

The al fresco celebration will feature holiday music by Sarah Conway and the Playful Souls. Santa has promised to make an appearance.

On Sunday, the Lighthouse Committee of the Montauk Historical Society hosts “Christmas at the Lighthouse” from 11 AM to 4 PM. Take a picture with Santa, enjoy free refreshments, music, pony rides, and face painting for the kiddies. The gift shop and museum will be open, but the tower climb will not be available.
