November 21, 2012

Bay Street Theatre’s Literature Live! presentation of The Crucible, by Arthur Miller, is being presented live on stage in a professional production company through this Saturday. The play is directed by Murphy Davis, Artistic Director of Bay Street Theatre.

The Crucible is about the Salem witch trials that took place in the Province of Massachusetts Bay between 1692 and1693. The play was written as an allegory of McCarthyism, when the U.S. government blacklisted accused communists.

Cast members Ken Forman, Joanna Howard, Kate Mueth, Al Bundonis, Mackenzie Engeldrum, Kate O’Phalen, Rob DiSario, Lisa Cory, Peter Connolly, Chloe Dirksen and Joel Leffert do a fantastic job of recreating the Salem witch trials. They take you back in time to the woods of Massachusetts Bay.
