Jason Robert Thompson

Died: Thursday, November 30, 2006
Age: 29
Jason Robert Thompson, a former Cutchogue resident, died suddenly November 30 in a motorcycle accident on Route 25A, near Gnarled Hollow Road, in East Setauket.

Jason was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on October 9, 1977 to Kevin F. and Pamela R. Thompson. He grew up in Cutchogue and attended famed culinary college Johnson & Wales on a full scholarship. His wife, Cynthia, called his love of cooking “a family legacy.” Jason was a graduate of Mattituck High School, Class of 1996.

He served in the United States Marine Corps for four years and, most recently, worked as a personal chef for Will Castro of Unique Auto of Holbrook. Castro even featured Thompson in several upcoming episodes of a reality show called “Unique Whips,” based on the work done at the Holbrook auto shop and airing on the Speed channel. The project would have been the ultimate combination of Jason’s longtime love of cooking and a newfound passion for cars.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia (nee Mujsce), and his five-year-old daughter, Breanna Nicole Thompson, both of Shirley; his parents, Kevin and Pamela Thompson of Cutchogue; his grandparents, Florence Ray of Connecticut and Spencer and Priscilla Petty of Cutchogue; two sisters, Samantha Lynn Thompson and Kelli Elizabeth Thompson, both of Cutchogue; a stepbrother, Bobby Chop of Connecticut; a stepsister, Susan Deacutis of upstate New York; a large extended family; and a host of friends.

The family received friends at the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Homes in Southold.
