Robert B. Richenburg

Age: 89
Artist Robert B. Richenburg died at his home in Springs on October 10.

Mr. Richenburg was born on July 14, 1917 to Fredrick Richenburg and Spray Edna Bartlett in Boston, Mass. He attended Boston University, George Washington University and Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C.

He was an early member of “The Artist’s Club” in New York City and also served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He taught at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn from 1951 to 1964, Cornell University in Ithaca from 1964 to 1967, Hunter College in 1967, and Ithaca College from 1970 to 1983.

He is predeceased by his first wife, Libby Chic Peltyn, who died in 1977.

He is survived by wife Margaret Kerr; children, Ronald Richenburg of Oxford, England, William Kerr of Water Mill, David Kerr of Missoula, MT, Margaret Kerr of Dover, NH; and grandchildren, Alexandra Richenburg, Zachary Kerr, Kaley Kerr, Fin Kerr Paulsen and Claire Kerr Paulsen.

A memorial gathering of friends and family was held on Saturday at the Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton.
