Died: Saturday, August 19, 2006
Edward Peter Zebrowski died at home with his family after losing his battle with cancer on August 19. Those who knew him said that Mr. Zebrowski was a well-respected member of the Bridgehampton community.
Mr. Zebrowski was born on February 3, 1923 to Stanley and Rose Zebrowski, who raised him in Bridgehampton. During High School, Mr. Zebrowski was a star athlete, who excelled in football, baseball and basketball. After his schooling, he played baseball for the Blue Sox and White Eagles — local semi-pro teams. Additionally, he served for 25 years as trustee of the Our Lady of Poland Roman Catholic Church in Southampton.
He also held posts of distinction, serving as president of both the American Polish Political Club and the American Polish Association. Mr. Zebrowski attained the rank of a third degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus and was an active volunteer in the Bridgehampton Fire Department for 35 years.
In 1960, he married Martha Crowley. Together they spent 46 years, living in a home they built on an apple orchard on Jobs Lane. In the mid 1970’s, he established a farm stand on Montauk Highway that supplied many area restaurants and supermarkets with local produce.
Mr. Zebrowski was honored with a firematic service and a service by the Knights of Columbus on Monday. A funeral service was held at Our Lady of Poland Roman Catholic Church yesterday. Interment followed at the Sacred Hearts Cemetery in Southampton. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to East End Hospice of Westhampton Beach and the Dominican Sisters Family Health Services in Hampton Bays.
