Ronald S. Lieber

Age: 76
Ronald S. Lieber passed away on June 12. During his life, Mr. Lieber faced numerous obstacles and always triumphed in the face of adversity.

He was born in 1929 to Ann and Alfred Lieber in Michigan City and graduated from Elston High School. Later, he attended Indiana University in Bloomington, where he studied accounting. Soon after graduation, he was drafted by the U.S. Army. During the Korean War, Mr. Lieber utilized his educational background and audited the army’s purchases. Following his army service, Mr. Lieber attended law school at the University of Michigan, where he met his wife, Ann.

Mr. Lieber opened a successful private practice in Indianapolis and served as a deputy attorney general for the State of Indiana for two years. He also devoted time to service, acting as the president of the Indianapolis Humane Society and as a Board Member of the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation. He was the fortunate survivor of a plane crash and a mountain climbing accident. In 2004, he and his wife moved to Sag Harbor full time, after years of vacationing there. Mr. Lieber had many friends and will be missed.

He is survived by his wife, Ann; his four children (Barry Lieber, Wendy Zingher, Valerie Lieber, and Michael Lieber), and their spouses, as well as six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Yardley and Pino Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at Temple Beth El-Zedeck, 600 West 70th Street, Indianapolis, IN, tomorrow.
