Felix Gajeski

Age: 80
Felix Gajeski, of Laurel, died at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead on April 29.

He was born in Peconic on May 17, 1925 to Antone and Helen (nee Halas) Gajeski. After attending Southold School for a time, he left early to go to work. For many years he was a farmer and operated Felix Gajeski & Sons Farm in Laurel. Later, he was associated with Half Hollow Nursery in Laurel.

Mr. Gajeski was a communicant of Our Lady of Ostrabrama Parish in Cutchogue and a former member of the Jamesport Fire Department. Farming was his life and he loved his grandsons, said family members.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen Theresa Gajeski; two sons, “Babe” Felix Gajeski Jr. of Northville, and Bill Gajeski of Laurel; three grandsons, Brian Gajeski, Gary Gajeski, Keith Gajeski, and a sister, Ann Marcinowski of Bellport. He was predeceased by his siblings, Eddie, Joe, Tony, Felyn Kopack, and Mary Carter.

The Liturgy of the Christian Burial was celebrated on May 2 at Our Lady of Ostrabrama Roman Catholic Church in Cutchogue, with Father Walter Rudnicki officiating. Interment was in the Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery.
