Gail North died of cancer on April 14 at the home of a friend on Shelter Island, surrounded by friends and family.
A resident of Shelter Island and New York City, she was born Gail Ross on October 13, 1939 and grew up in Los Angeles. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from CUNY and went on to become a senior editor and published author. The warmth of her spirit will be missed by all who had the privilege to have known her.
She is survived by her nephews Mike and Joey Zara, the sons of her late sister, Barbara, and by her brother-in-law Danny Zara. She was devoted to her dog Charlene and her late, beloved Tyler.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to The Shelter Island Funeral Home. Interment was in Forest Lawn in Hollywood Hills, California.
