I'm surprised it took Jack Michel so long to gloat about the November 7 election in his "My Gay View" column. But sure enough he came through last week with "How Sweet It Was." What remains to be seen is if his beloved Democrats can actually get anything resembling positive change going in government or if it will be the usual "tax and spend" they are known for. Michel's constant criticism of the Bush administration is a lot like his liberal politics and those who have run (and now won) on such principals: we know what they are against but what are they for?
Well, they have their seats in both House and Senate, they have accomplished the removal of Rumsfeld, and they have their loudmouthed Nancy Pelosi speaking out as Speaker of the House but that's hardly enough to make things "sweet." We'll see what actually gets done over the next two years.
Last of all, let me tell you that if I or anyone of my generation had been at Jack's party on election night I'd have told the hostess it was none of her business how I voted — past, present or future. That is what the liberal elitists are all about. Lots of hot air and no practical substance.
