Referring to an Andrew G. Benjamin, 11/21 letter . . . What's his point? The letter is so tortured with sarcastic sarcasms, exaggerated exaggerations and presumptuous assumptions that one soon questions whether the letter was written to make a political statement or an exercise in merely releasing the writer's pent-up rage.
Get over it Andy; the election is over and the Republicans lost their no-oversight majority Congress. They lost it not only because of its blatant ineffectiveness but because of the invented war by their Executive banner carrier, diverting energy from the real and obvious goal. That is why the country decided as per the by-line to, "Throw 'em Out?" They deserved it period, and for no other reason, despite your painfully circuitous rationale.
If the Democrats manage to sink to the low bar level set by this Republican Congress we should "Throw 'em Out" as well. In truth they have an affinity to shoot themselves in the foot, so remain hopeful, Andrew. Nevertheless, all the contrived and twisted rhetoric exhibited in the letter cannot change one thing; that it is a bit of fresh air dumping the fall-in-line, no-oversight Congress which together with an incompetent President and his devious advisors has degraded our country to its present depth and earned the disdain of the entire world.
