I wish to thank Lisa Finn and The Independent for the article on our schools. I know that the school districts always project increases in their student enrollment. The only superintendent that admits to a decrease in students is Mr. Perna in Montauk. We are being taxed for a huge addition to the high school, which will be short of students.
There are no homes or apartments in East Hampton that working people can afford. They have to relocate with their children to other areas for jobs and dwellings. I think we should not go ahead with these additions. I don't see the children waiting for the school bus on my morning walk as I did last fall. Why tax all the people for years to come when there will be less children attending our schools and we will have empty rooms in the school?
