No Fooling

Dear East Hampton Independent,

Roll Out The Barrel . . . Not the 1934 barrel of fun "Beer Barrel Polka" by Vaclav Zeman but rather for the barrels of money from the "Bush Base" that will now be filling to overflowing the Republican coffers to keep this administration, vis--vis, themselves in power once again . . . much to the detriment of the middle class. Call it an investment.

What can the real people of this country do to get their country back? They will get one opportunity in the mid-term elections and another in the '08 big one. Many of us here on the East End (would love to use the term "Hamptons" but that might include some with another viewpoint) are all hopefully savvy to the Right Wing tricks getting us to vote for them against our own best interests. As our own eloquent Commander in Chief once said, "There's an old saying in Tennessee I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee that says, fool me once, shame on you. Fool me you can't get fooled again." TRANSLATION: "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me."

Let us hope that there will be no further shame on our country which has already been fooled TWICE.
