I find it ironic that your editorial warning about phony charities defines the police union (the Police Benevolent Association a.k.a. P.B.A.) as a charity. Does that mean that you think all unions are charities or only the police union? It is not that there is anything wrong with the PBA, it's just that it is not a charity, it is a union.
Editor' Note: You might want to try reading the editorial again. It states: "only five percent of a million dollars raised by an INDEPENDENT FIRM went to the P.B.A."
