Help Abby

To the Editor,

Abby needs your help to get better. It's heartbreaking to see this little girl suffering so much. Abby is an heroic, little survivor of 97 operations who has never given up hope and always has a smile on her face. Will you please help her?

Abigail Dunham. A 12-year-old girl who has known pain her whole life. She suffers from hydrocephalus, a neurological brain disorder. Abby has spent three years of her life in hospitals, has been partially paralyzed, had infections spread to her brain, spine, kidneys, bladder and bloodstream. Three shunts in her brain connected to 10' of tubing help her live.

Family funds have been depleted. To continue to care for Abby, we ask for your help to pay for transportation to hospitals, a new wheelchair and, ultimately, care at the Cleveland Neurological Center. Abby desperately wants to go back to school to be with her friends.

"It's overpowering to see her strength and faith, for she has suffered her whole life. My love for her keeps me going she is my hero," says Kelly, Abby's mom.

Abby inspires everyone around her. She is an incredible, bright, beautiful light. She is an angel on earth. God bless you, Abby. We love you. Donations are greatly appreciated and can be sent to: Mission of Kindness Abby Fund, P.O. Box 917, Quogue, NY 11959. 653-4218. All gifts are tax deductible.
