Stolen Dirt Bike

Open Letter to you Thieving Cowards,

Well, are you happy?! Obviously you were watching our home for some time, calculating when would be the right time to steal. When you finally decided 2:30 a.m. 8/19/06 under the black sky of night was the perfect time to trespass on to our property, creep up under our car port and steal our 13-year-old son's YZ 80 dirt bike you stole more than just a motorcycle, you stole his best friend. You stole from a CHILD something that he had earned. UNLIKE YOU, he worked for that bike. He had cut broccoli, cauliflower and gathered potatoes from the farm; he babysat his sister, worked cleaning the house . . . etc. He was only 12 and in the spirit of this family he had to work for that dirt bike and he did. You disgusting thieving cowards stole both the dirt bike and his helmet within seconds. We are fourth generation Riverhead residents and you insult all that is good about Riverhead. Now we have to lock up everything.

I am asking the good people of Riverhead to please call the authorities if someone SUDDENLY has in their possession a blue 2001 YZ 80 dirt bike and blue AFX full face helmet. It is stolen property if they try to sell it!

Thank you.
