Had a good laugh at the armature spoof aimed at Gore called "An Inconvenient Spoof." Al Gore has a great sense of humor and has shown that he really enjoys self deprecating humor. It's a sign of confidence and I'm certain he also got a kick out of the film.
The little movie shows Gore's head in a penguin-esque tuxedo lecturing a group of penguins on the danger of Global Warming. In truth, Gore in all his brilliance tends to lecture on and on and on when intent on a crusade. We are not used to having an intellectual presidential level person make his point so it's easy to poke fun, and the movie was indeed funny especially when you think it was done by some amateurs chiding his super seriousness when involved in a humanitarian cause.
The humor, however, was diluted when the Wall Street Journal, of all papers, exposed the fact that the film was not made in the basement of some clever 29 year old but rather by a slick Republican public relations firm called DCI, which just happens to have Exxon as a client. We all know Exxon's drive to drill in any and all of our most pristine areas. It wouldn't amount to lower prices at the pump but rather greater profits for our oil companies and the barons. The Bush Family is one of those Barons.
Anyone who would be surprised that the Republican PR machine would not distort or invent the truth to make their point must not have been paying attention to the Florida presidential election and the next one in Ohio.
