Insensitive?

To J. D. F.'s Poor Taste Column,

Needless to say, when my father was learning to speak again after removal of his cancerous vocal chords at age 49 our family, found it a blessing every a, e, i, o and u was wonderful. He did not use a mechanical voice, he gulped water, burped it back in words, over and over, until sentences arrived. That "hole in his throat" that distressed you so, allowed him to breath and live. The covers for the hole were hand-done by my mother.

A great sense of humor with regard to sometimes hard-to-hear words, errors, phone callers responses were amusing and always thankfully received.

I find it pathetic that having business acumen, being a celeb (?), landowner, newspaper columnist, etc., does not make you more thoughtful and considerate of others.

Perhaps you should not eat while watching TV.
