Under The Carpet

Dear Independent Editor,

The effects of Chief Justice John G. Roberts and Justice Samuel A. Alito being installed in the Supreme Court are beginning to show its ugly head. In a 5/4 decision, most of Delay's redistricting scheme was upheld, save for one which was so blatantly a scheme to restrict the voting rights of the minority within the district that it couldn't be swept under the carpet.

The Supreme Court will now march in Lock-Step with the Republican dominated Legislative Branch. Our "No-Oversight Congress" has already shown that it will continue to march in Lock-Step with our Republican Executive branch. Perhaps a better description would be Goose-Step, reminiscent of an earlier one party system. We sacrificed a great many of our fighting forces during World War II to show that such a government was a danger to the entire world and should be eliminated.

How soon we forget.
