Please Help

Dear East End Community,

Please join me in raising funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). Team "Moving for Maddie" is in honor of my 7-year old daughter Madelyn. She was diagnosed with Insulin Dependent Diabetes on October 28, 2004.

Last year I had a simple goal of raising $5,000 towards the cure. Imagine my surprise when the foundation told me I had $19,500; third highest in Suffolk County! This year, my goal is slightly higher; I know with your help, I'll have no problem getting there. If you gave last year, I thank you again whole-heartedly, and I am bold enough to ask again for your support. If you didn't last year, I am not too proud to ask again this time around. I encourage all to share with friends, family, and neighbors in getting the word out, and support this cause.

My team will one again be participating in the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes, October 1, 2006 at Belmont Lake State Park. It's a wonderful event, and I welcome anyone that would like to walk with us. Last year we proudly wore T-shirts that displayed the names of the more than 30 local businesses that helped support our team. I plan on doing the same this year; however, I look forward to having more names on the backs of those shirts!

Please make your check payable to JDRF and send to "Moving for Maddie" P.O. Box 364, Quogue, NY, 11959. No donation is too small. If you are a business receiving this, please contact me at (631) 288-1966 if you'd like to set up a "JDRF Day" where some of your proceeds go towards the fundraising. In addition, please contact me if you have a future idea for a fundraising event. I thank you for joining me in the belief that a cure for Juvenile Diabetes is near.
