Restore Confidence

Dear Editor,

Why is it puzzling that a school budget, requiring only a two percent tax raise, fails in Riverhead? The newcomer board of education candidate beat the incumbent by 413 votes. The candidate publicly endorsed (ad in News Review) by each of the school board majority came out last.

The budget vote was not about tax levy. Largely expressed is distrust in our current school board the board repeatedly catered to the wants of administrators, at the expense of classroom.

The new voice of Angela DeVito and continued brave efforts of school board members Berezmy and Prete can restore confidence. Let the school board reduce administrative cost and raises, and resubmit the budget for a YES!
