The vote, May 16, for budget and for school board members is critical for Riverhead. The current school board increased administration by at least four over-priced positions, while failing to provide books and equipment for classrooms. It failed to negotiate a contract with the teachers. Promotions, raises, and giveaways multiplied, as did consultants and managerial "interims." The board allowed tens of thousands of dollars as well as staff to work on an apocryphal scheme to annex the Little Flower School.
Two male candidates for the school board are glued to the current leadership. But if we do not change the school board's directions, the quality of schools will plunge. Marie Tooker and Angela DeVito are committed to the Riverhead School district and are willing to work hard for children and taxpayers. They are competent businesswomen who can help restore the quality of Riverhead education. Be sure to vote on May 16 and this year, Vote For The Girls!
