Dear Editor:

Your article of 3/8, "Immigrant Population Impacts North Fork Schools," should be read by all policy-makers advocating unlimited guest worker visas as well as citizenship for possibly over 11 illegal aliens, in addition to an average of one million legal immigrants a year!

The U.S. now owes China $190 billion in national debt. According to test scores, American children fall behind their counterparts in many countries in Asia and Europe in part due to exploding immigration-related environments in schools across the United States. Isn't it irresponsible to advocate more immigration and neglect native-born American students? If the U.S. has not provided quality education to natives and legal immigrants already here, how many more foreign-born should we continue to invite to this country?

As an immigrant who used to prepare immigration applications, I believe that an immigration moratorium is long overdue!
