Screw Jimmy's Constitution
October 17, 2013 | 11:59 PM

Jimmy ... Don't know you but let me say this about your comment on the U.S. Constitution and my understanding of it:

According to the document, I have the rights to "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." The Federal Government's job is to ensure that these rights of U.S. citizens are never abridged by others - whether foreign or domestic.

Part of that job in national security; the other part is local security, such as in New York City. That is, protection from the bad guys who wish or would do us harm.

I get the profiling issues you allude to and I don't like profiling of any kind based on race, creed, or color. But sometimes, if it walks like a duck and sounds like a duck ... it's a duck!

The question is whether you want NYPD to intervene before-the-fact or after it's too late to make a difference in the outcome.

What you need is to have one of your daughters accosted or physically threatened on the streets of NYC (as I have experienced), and then see how you feel about "Stop-and Frisk". Bill Crandall
