Ray Kelly for Mayor of NYC
June 26, 2013 | 06:33 PM

Let me be the first to speak up here in support of our NYPD. Ray Kelly is my hero, along with the rest of New York's "Finest"! They can stop-and-frisk me anytime, any place, if they think that will lead to greater public safety on our streets and in our homes.

I have very mixed feelings about "profiling" based on race or color, but trust that our cops make most of their stop-and-frisk decisions based on demonstrated anti-social or recorded criminal profile "behavior".

I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

As for Christine Quinn and the Washington, D.C. folks who want to set up a Federal watchdog agency to oversee NYPD's Stop-and-Frisk program, get lost!

On a lighter note, I suppose, I have never begged anyone for anything (well OK, maybe a few women), but I now beg Ray Kelly to throw his hat in the political ring and run for Mayor of NYC. We need you now more than ever, Ray!

I say all this as a conservative Democrat, who doesn't care what my "lefty" friends or the ACLU think about this issue.

Go Ray!!! Bill Crandall
