The Middle Ages: Spiritual Vision

Books of World Literature in Music and Art at the Amagansett library takes place from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. In this multi media presentation, Humanites scholar Kimble Humiston uses examples from Beowulf and Chaucer's Canterbury Tales to contrast the growing influences of the chursch and its spiritual vision with worldly and secular concerns, during the midle ages. Green Earth Cafe

Beatles art by Don Duga, legendary animation artist whose work includes Frosty the Snowman, The Last Unicorn with Mia Farrow, Mad Monster Party with Phyllis Diller and Boris Karloff, and Sesame Street, is being shown through April at The Green Earth Cafe in Riverhead. Also on view is the famous "Grey Gardens" exhibit by 6 Long Island artists Frank Latorre, Mym Tuma, Irra Verbitsky, Richard LaRovere, A.F.Wargo and Don Duga. Also on view through April. Crazy Monkey

During the month of April, the Crazy Monkey gallery will feature the work of three artists, as well as a group show. The featured artists are Jim Hayden, Jana Hayden and Wilhelmina Howe. The exhibition will be on view through May 1.

Student Art

Visit the annual Student Art Festival Part II Grades 9 12 at Guild Hall. The show will run through Sunday.

East End Arts

"Art & Passion, Year of the Collector, 2011" the first juried show at the East End Arts Council on East Main Street in Riverhead chooses a subject art lovers have collected throughout the ages, "Women." The theme will be expressed in paintings, photography, sculpture and collage. Jurying the show will be Pamela Williams, owner of the preeminent Pamela Williams Gallery in Amagansett.
