Bay and Main Helps Needy

The Bay and Main restaurant and lounge in Greenport will serve a free Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow at noon for those in need. This is the third year in a row that owners George and Michael Fuchs have provided a Thanksgiving meal to the less fortunate. Call 477-1442 to find out more.

Jacqueline L. Andrews, a Hampton Bays resident, earned her associate degree in Culinary Arts from the Culinary Institute of America September 8. Andrews is the daughter of Joan and Richard Andrews and graduated from Hampton Bays High School in 2006.

Michael's at Maidstone

New winter hours have been announced for Michael's at Maidstone restaurant. Dinner is served daily Sunday through Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday brunch is offered from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For reservations or further information, call 324-0725.

Publick House Ales

On November 10, two of the Southampton Publick House's brews garnered top honors at the 10th Great International Beer Competition in Providence R.I. The brewer's Southampton Double White Ale took first place in the competition's Fruit and Spice Beer category and the SH Saison Deluxe took third in the Strong Beer category.

Golden Pear Specials

Check out these holiday season lunch specials at the three Golden Pear locations: Roasted natural turkey, cranberry mayonnaise, sliced apple, Vermont cheddar cheese and tomato all served on rosemary bread ($9.95). The 'wich is accompanied by your choice of homemade pasta salad, a green salad, or country slaw. Almond restaurant in Bridgehampton has added some new menu items for the fall and winter season: steamed black mussels with shallots, white wine and parsley ($9/$15). Red wine braised short ribs with roasted beets, horseradish crème fraiche ($12/$24). Crisp duck confit with huckleberries and herbs ($11). Montauk Flounder with garlic chips ($22).
