Poaching Found in East Hampton
A DISTASTEFUL FIND: Residents of the Sammy's Beach section of East Hampton found evidence of another ancient local "tradition" — poaching. The corpse of a deer was found on the side of Old House Landing Road over the weekend. Its head and tail had been excised. Cops say this is the second similarly mutilated deer carcass discovered in recent weeks. The other was found earlier this month on the beach in Montauk. East Hampton Town Police Chief Todd Sarris believe both mutilations are the work of poachers hunting out of season.
