New Menu Items at Rowdy
The lunch and dinner menus at Rowdy Hall have a few new choices. For the earlier hours, try the warm lentil salad ($9.50), chicken sandwich ($11.50), bistro cobb ($12.50) and salmon nicoise ($12.50). The new dinner items include local striped bass ($22) and shepherd's pie ($22.50). Rowdy Hall is open daily for lunch and dinner; 10 Main St. in the Parrish Mews, East Hampton, 324-8555.
Beer Dinner at Publick
The Southampton Publick House will keep the pints flowing at its annual beer dinner October 26. A four-course dinner paired with Southampton ales and lagers will be $60. On the menu and on tap is pumpkin and butternut squash soup, served with Southampton Pumpkin Ale, smoked duck breast, paired with Southampton Saison, pork saltimbocca, with Octoberfest Lager, and bavarois, served with espresso stout. Nick & Toni's Additions
With fall comes some fresh choices at Nick & Toni's. New apps on the menu include arugula salad with wild mushrooms ($14), fennel-cured halibut ($16) and creamy anson mills polenta ($16); new entrees are local swordfish ($36) and hand cut pappardelle with braised rabbit ($22). New Schedule at Pacific East
Pacific East has a new schedule for fall; the restaurant is open Thursday through Sunday from 5:30 to 10 p.m. and on Saturday until 11 p.m. Super Sushi will be on Sundays, with all sushi 50% off. Octoberfest at Desmond's
Desmond's Restaurant and Lounge at The Inn & Spa at East Wind celebrates October with a drinks special: throughout the month of October (excluding Sundays before 2 p.m.). Diners will receive a complimentary pint of Blue Point Octoberfest or a glass of Riesling wine. Special menu items for the month include potato leek soup, steamed mussels, grilled bratwurst, apple strudel and black forest cake. 5720 Route 25A, Wading River, 846-2335.
Tour Italy in Southampton
The Southampton Inn will host a Tour of Italy four-course wine dinner October 26 at 7 p.m., for $65 per person. A fall harvest salad will be paired with a Davinci 2004 Chianti, the Mediterranean fusilli will be joined by a Santa Margherita 2004 Pinot Grigio, and the lamb osso bucco will be complemented by a Rosso Di Montalcino 2004. Wine Tastings at Maidstone
The Maidstone Arms in East Hampton will host three wine tasting weekends: this weekend, October 27 and 28 and November 27 and 28. The Friday night welcome includes a flight of wines served with a plate of fruit and cheese.
