Eatery Expansion Sparks Transformation

Sag Harbor foodies will soon have yet another chance to foray into a brand-new eatery, one that promises to add a little spice to the mix.

Rob Gettling, manager of The Dock House, located on the Long Wharf in Sag Harbor, announced this week that Dock House owner Al Geldmacher has recently acquired Fat Ralph's, formerly owned by "Hell's Kitchen" runner-up Ralph Pagano.

Gettling said that the transformation was complete when the establishment changed hands over a week ago. Currently, the new owners and staff are busy cleaning house and preparing for a mid or late-October unveiling of the new dining spot, to be called Agave, South of the Border.

Agave will feature Mexican fare, with both south of the border and north of the border menu selections, as well as American choices.

"It's a totally different restaurant" than the seafood-serving Dock House, said Gettling. "We're just trying to do something else that people would like to eat, at inexpensive prices."

Pagano sold World Pie in Bridgehampton several years ago and last year moved his newest restaurant venture, Fat Ralph's, into the 70-year-old Madison Market.
