Soul Man Hunter Comes to Town

With his smooth, infectious sound, British R&B blues man James Hunter is bound to woo the crowd at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center on Friday at 8 p.m. Influenced by Van Morrison and Sam Cooke, among others, the singer, songwriter and guitarist offers a classic soul sound complete with tight horn arrangements. Formerly a railway worker from Colchester, England, Hunter became a mainstream American crossover with the release of his new album People Gonna Talk. The album's 14 original tracks were written and arranged by Hunter.

His performance at WHBPAC is sponsored by WEHM. Tickets are $60, $45 and $30. Call 288-1500 or purchase tickets online at WHPAC.org.
