Prostate Cancer Screenings

State Senator Kenneth LaValle is sponsoring a free prostate cancer screening at Peconic Bay Medical Center on September 25 and 26 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The screening will include an internal exam by PBMC urologists and a protein antigen screening blood test. A screening appointment is required and can be made by calling 548-6080.

Healthcare Symposium

The East Hampton Healthcare foundation will hold a symposium on cardiology on September 30 in the East Hampton Village Emergency Services Building. Beginning at 9 a.m., Dr. Michael J. Wolk, past president of the American College of Cardiology, will start things off with an introduction about the past, present and future of cardiology. There will be presentations about prevention of atherosclerosis, new cardiovascular diagnostic technology, and new cardiovascular therapy. There will also be audience Q&As. The event is free, but seating is limited; call 324-8943 to register.

Days of Beauty

"Days of Beauty," an event to benefit the North Fork Breast Health Coalition will be held at the Robert James Salon & Spa, 49 East Main St., Riverhead on October 21 and 22. All salon services will be available and all proceeds from the event go to the NFBHC. Call 208-8155 to make an appointment.
