Maritime Fun in Sag Harbor
Sag Harbor will be a mecca of maritime fun September 15 through 17 with a lobster bake, a clamshucking contest, a boat regatta, and more planned for the annual Sag Harborfest. In addition, there will be whaleboat races, a festival parade, a Taste of Sag Harbor Food Fair and an expanded farmers market on the Long Warf. There will be a number of walks during the weekend, including through the Long Pond Greenbelt, the North Haven Loop Trail and several historic walking tours throughout the village. Other events include a boat building demonstration, a children's fair, a Native American and African American food tasting, and an antiques appraisal.
For more information or to sign up for whaleboat races or the Tug-o-War, call Bryan Boyhan at 725-1700; for the food contests and clamshucking, call Lillian Woudsma at 329-2151.
