Home Invasion in Flanders
Three men broke into a Priscilla Ave. Flanders home, tied up the occupants and pistol-whipped them on August 12. The men stole $250 in cash before fleeing; the Suffolk County PD's K-9 unit responded but was unable to locate the perps.
Shareece Felton, 27, of Speonk was arrested last Wednesday at Southampton Police headquarters and charged with second degree burglary for allegedly stealing an unspecified amount of cash from a Phillips Ave., Speonk home on August 15. A 35-year-old Port Jefferson woman was arrested in Hampton Bays on Sunday and charged with criminal possession of stolen property and grand larceny, both in the fourth degree, for allegedly stealing a credit card from the Quogue Beach Club on August 14. Police say she used the card to buy $300 worth of groceries.
Twenty grand worth of jewelry was stolen from a home on Scrimshaw Dr. in Southampton between August 2 and 12. Over in Flanders, $1300 worth of jewelry and $100 in cash were lifted from an Oak Ave. abode on August 14. Police have a suspect. On Hudson St. in Hampton Bays, an engagement ring of unknown value, and more $800 worth of other baubles were taken last Thursday. Someone absconded with a $2500 necklace from a business on Bellows Pond Rd. in Hampton Bays between August 9 and 10. The necklace had been left in a general employee mailbox. Cash — $1000 worth — was the stolen good of choice during a Highview Dr., Sag Harbor burglary on August 9.
In East Hampton, $1000 in cash, and $2000 in personal checks and credit cards were stolen from a briefcase in a store on Main Street on August 14. On Sunday, $340 in cash was purloined from Rumrunners on Main St., E.H. A window had been broken to gain entry. In Amagansett, $1000 in cash was stolen from the Clam Bar sometime between Saturday and Sunday.
Two cars were driven onto the other side of the law — a box truck full of furniture stolen from the Patio.com store in Southampton on August 5 and a 1998 Honda Civic stolen from a Sherwood Rd., North Sea home on August 15. A boat engine, sans the boat, valued at $2075 was illegally motored out of Sailaction on CR 39 in Southampton sometime over the weekend.
Kenneth Fiore, 33, of Mastic was charged with assault second for an alleged assault that occurred on May 21 at a Montauk Hwy., Hampton Bays locale, after an ongoing investigation. Fiore turned himself into Southampton Police on August 14.
A 48-year-old Hampton Bays man was charged with grand larceny in the fourth and second degree harassment after he stole his wife's purse and grabbed her by the hair when she attempted to flee their Donellan Rd., Hampton Bays home.
DWIs & Drugs
Edgar Gomez, 33, of Hampton Bays was arrested for felony DWI last Wednesday in Hampton Bays after being involved in an accident on Sunrise Highway. Southampton cops report eight additional DWI arrests, three in Hampton Bays, two in Flanders, and one each in East Quogue, Southampton and Northampton. East Hampton cops picked up five soused sorts, two in East Hampton, and one each in Sag Harbor, Amagansett and Southampton.
A 50-year-old Medford woman was hauled away for driving while impaired by drugs in Hampton Bays on August 15 after allegedly downing five prescription muscle relaxers before heading for the open road.
A 24-year-old New Hyde Park man was arrested on Dune Rd. in Hampton Bays on August 12 and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance seventh after police observed him ingesting a liquid that contains ingredients that metabolize into the tranquilizer GHB; he was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. A 19-year-old East Hampton man was arrested on Edgemere Rd. in Montauk on August 10 and charged with CPCS in the seventh. No word from East Hampton cops on his controlled substance of choice.
