New Patio for Almondito
Almondito has just announced that its newly renovated outdoor patio is now open for business. With seating for 25 people the area will be opened nightly depending on the weather. The restaurant itself is open 7 days a week, starting at 6 p.m. Almondito, 290 Montauk Highway, East Hampton, 329-6700.
The B-52's Would Be Proud
Almond Restaurant is now offering lobster as its Plate du Jour on Wednesday Nights. The 1 1/2 pound Butter Poached lobster, has a market price between $32 and $34. Tapas For All
Tierra Mar will now be offering a new tapas menu, items of which can be sampled a la carte or can be purchased en masse for $58 per person. The new menu includes 10 dishes, some highlights of which are BBQ Long Island free range duck confit ($4), Barbequed colossal shrimp with avocado salad with smoked red vinaigrette ($10), almonds roasted with salt and cumin ($2), and grilled Peconic Bay oysters with chive beurre blanc ($5). Clean Hippies No Longer An Oxymoron
Main Street Sweets/Ben & Jerry's was recently visited by Ben & Jerry's company executives Gregg Adler and Ed Peistrup. The duo performed a routine six hour inspection of the location, noting quality, cleanliness, service and community service. The store has received a 97.5%, an A+ Rating, one of the highest stores in the country of over 500 Ben and Jerry's Stores. Owner Kenny Schnabel would like to thank his shift leaders, Nancy Hallock and Martha Gilbert and all the staff for their work.
