Swinging in Orient

Big Band East, a 16-piece authentic 1940s swing band, will perform the hits of Glenn Miller, The Dorsey Brothers, Harry James and others on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Orient Congregational Church. The suggested donation is $10; call 323-2665.

Singing Bartenders

Thursday means karaoke at Gurney's Inn, with Jim, Nancy and Kenny the singing bartender, at 9 p.m.; no cover charge and exciting drink specials. Additionally, Fridays and Saturdays feature dancing with DJs Des and Linda (no cover charge — 21 and over).

Project Vibe Plays Publick House

Project Vibe, a funky reggae and rock band, will play every Friday night at the Southampton Publick House, starting at 10:30. During the performance, the Publick House will offer $2 bottles of Southampton Secret Ale and South-ampton IPA. Wednesdays are ladies' night, and on Fridays, D.J. Lucienne spins dance hits. Cozy Evenings at Co Co's

Pianist Jane Hastay and bassist Peter Martin appear every Friday night from 7 to 11 p.m. at Co Co's Restaurant in the Maidstone Arms. The married couple will perform vocal and instrumental arrangements of songs by Gershwin, Ellington, Jobim and others. They'll warble romantic ballads, bossa novas, Broadway melodies and timeless selections from the 1930s to the present.

Cross to the Turtle

It's lively at Turtle Crossing on Thursdays and Fridays. The Annie Morgan Band will perform tomorrow from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Mama Lee and Friends will entertain on Friday, also from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Call 324-7166 for more info.

Breaking it Down at Buckley's

Buckley's Inn Between in Hampton Bays has live music every Saturday night from 8 p.m. to midnight. Mike Flip mixes it up with karaoke every Wednesday, followed by ladies' night on Thursdays from 8 to 10 p.m. Call 728-7197.

Just Another Manic Monday

The Cigar Bar is open seven days a week until 4 a.m. and boasts an exciting calendar of events. Start the week off right with "Maniac Mondays," featuring blueberry mojitos and passion fruit margaritas. Tuesday night is Industry night with half priced drinks for those in the hospitality business. On Wednesdays, a DJ spins the latest dance and hip hop music into the wee hours of the morning. Friday is an all-night dance party; no cover charge.

Make Merry

Vivian and The Merrymakers, a steel drum band, will perform on the Montauk Green from 6 to 8 p.m., the last of the free, open air concerts sponsored by the Montauk Chamber of Commerce. Bring a chair or blanket.

Open Mic at East Enders

Bob Barta and friends will play the East Enders Coffee House on East Main Street in Riverhead tomorrow from 8 to 11 p.m. Friday is open mic from 8 to 11 p.m., hosted by Bob K, who'll perform from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. On Saturday, Tom Hood of the Unknown Gentleman will play roots and American music from 8 to 11 p.m.

Singing Pol

The Gigshack in Montauk presents local politician Jay Schneiderman and his band Jayakari every Saturday through September from 6 to 10 p.m. Come listen to their version of the Montauk blues! Food, wine and 39 varieties of beer are available.

Tunes at the Talkhouse

Burning Spear kicks things off tonight at 8 p.m. at The Stephen Talkhouse ($80), followed by Karaoke Night with Jim and Nancy at 10:30 ($5). Laura Thomas plays at 8 p.m. tomorrow ($10), and Lez Zeppelin will take the stage at 8 p.m. ($50) on Friday, followed by Booga Sugar at 10:30 ($25). Raul Malo will be the featured act at 8 on Saturday ($55/$40), followed by an encore with Booga Sugar at 10:30 ($25). Antigone Rising rises at 8 p.m. on Sunday ($50), with Winston Irie at 10 p.m. ($10); next Monday Simon Kirke fills the 8 o'clock slot ($25/$15), with Incognito at 10 ($10). The Realm will play next Tuesday at 9 p.m. ($10).
