After recognizing the number of people making the rounds on the sidewalks for fitness' sake, a new innovation has been introduced at the Tanger Outlet Center. "Tanger Trails" has recently been designated to show walkers the distance they are covering between stores, anywhere between 0.1 to 1.6 miles. The SAS Factory Shoe Store at Tanger I Suite 213 has begun distributing two free publications to support the effort — Tanger Outlet's Shopping Is A Sport Walker's Guide and SAS Shoemaker's Walking Sense. The latter comes complete with a walking calendar. For more information, contact Vanessa Dayton 631-477-9600.

Westhampton Hairdresser Best in Nation
Westhampton resident Nicholas French was named North American Avant Garde Hairdresser Of The Year at the NAHA Awards at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas on July 16. The ceremony was held with 3,000 professional hairdressers and industry leaders such as Vidal Sassoon in attendance. The Avant Garde category is reserved
for highly creative abstract hair design. French drew his inspiration from
the ancient Japanese hairstyling techniques displayed in "Memoirs Of A Geisha." For the two-day photography session, French collaborated with New York artist Joseph Cartright. French is also a Global Artistic Director for Matrix, a division of L'Oreal.
