Schwenk: New Candidate for Southampton Town Clerk
Marla W. Schwenk, a lifelong Southampton resident, will officially declare her candidacy for town clerk of Southampton on Friday at 9:30 a.m. on the steps of Town Hall.
Schwenk said she is running for town clerk in order to assure accountability in Southampton government. She has a background in business and involvement in community affairs as she has worked for the American Cancer Society, WLIU 88.3 Public Radio, South Fork Breast Health Coalition and the Southampton Town Aquatics Recreation.
Congressman Tim Bishop, also a Southampton resident, will introduce Schwenk and endorse her candidacy. Schwenk has received the official designation of the Democratic Party.
