Priest Struck and Killed

Monsignor William Costello, 79, of Garden City, was struck and killed by a car driven by Karen L. Fisher, 42, of East Hampton on July 18. Costello was walking on Woodbine Dr. when Fisher, who was allegedly intoxicated, struck him with her Dodge Caravan.

Costello, who had been visiting his sister, was pronounced dead at Southampton Hospital. Fisher was arrested at her home.

Last Wednesday Fisher was charged with DWI, leaving the scene of accident, a felony and driving with a suspended license. Yesterday, a grand jury added unspecified felony charges.
