Art & Tech: A New Code for Beauty

The Artists Alliance of East Hampton announces the upcoming program Art & Tech: A New Code for Beauty which explores the new digital medium as the medium of our time. The program is hosted by Roz Dimon, an expert in the field of digital art for over 20 years. Artists Michael Knigin and Lisa Kiss will also address specific issues related to their work.

"It's no longer a question if one uses Photoshop but what is the artist doing with 'the new palette for our times.' It is time to re-examine a medium that has matured to a point where skill, craftsmanship and vision need to be held to a higher bar," said Dimon. "Working with artists who have experience in both message and artisanship is an exciting new way to examine this ongoing (but unacknowledged in the art world at large) Digital Renaissance in art and design."

The program is being held tonight at Ashawagh Hall on Springs-Fireplace Road at Old Stone Highway in East Hampton. A networking reception will be held at 6 p.m.; the program will start at 6:30. It is open to the public at no charge. Call 324-2225.
