Southampton's New Ale
Southampton Ales & Lagers of the Southampton Publick House has just released a new Double White Ale. The Double White is an unusual brew and another Publick House original; it is a "double strength" version of classic Belgian "White" ale. It is an unfiltered wheat-based brew with a special character that comes from the use of Curacao orange peel and ground coriander seeds in the brewing process, giving the brew a refreshing orange-y tartness. The ale will be distributed throughout the northeast at gourmet markets and beverage distributors. It retails for $5; call The Southampton Publick House at 283-2800 for more information.
Jazz For Dad
The Southampton Inn is celebrating Father's Day with a jazz reception, featuring music by the Shareef Clayton Trumpet on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. All fathers will receive a complementary drink. The Southampton Inn, 91 Hill Street, Southampton, 283-6500.
