Local Playwright Headlines At Guild Hall

"Creature Cravings," a cycle of four original plays by Long Island playwright Stephen F. Kelleher, will open at the John Drew Theater at Guild Hall in East Hampton this weekend.

Empire Gas, being performed this Friday at 8 p.m., is a comedy which examines the effects of misplaced fear and racism on a community reeling from the shock of the Iranian Hostage Crisis. It's a modern day western that culminates in a show down.

A Creature Craving, which tells the story of a man who decides to have his body cosmetically altered to impress the woman he's about to marry, will be performed at 8 p.m. on Saturday.

Tattoo is a tale of one married couple's adventures on the eve of their third anniversary. They find themselves in a tattoo parlor telling their deepest secrets to a pierced tattoo artist. It will be performed at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets for these three performance readings are $10.

The Lawless Sun, which features four family members on a life changing trip to the Grand Canyon, will be presented in a Full Production from May 26-28 and June 2-4. Tickets are $20. Call Theatermania at 1-866-811-4111.
