Conference On Developmental Disabilities
A free conference on developmental disabilities will be held at Southampton College's Chancellors Hall on April 29 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The conference is designed to address the informational and resource needs of East End Long Island families who have family members with developmental disabilities.
The speakers will include Irene Jill McGinn, Director of the Long Island Developmental Disabilities Service Office, Dr. John Pomeroy of the Cody Center, and Dr. M. Satish of Opti-Healthcare. State Assemblyman Fred Thiele will attend.
East End Disability Associates, Inc., the primary event sponsor, is a nonprofit organization that provides an array of services and programs for people with developmental disabilities. For more information and to pre-register, call 369-7345.
Local Business Showcase
More than 60 local businesses will send representatives and displays to the Eighth Annual Business Showcase sponsored by the Southampton Chamber of Commerce, to be held next Wednesday at The Southampton Inn, 91 Hill Street, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The public is invited ($5 admission) to browse a mini-marketplace of the best of Southampton's businesses. Refreshments will be served; for more information, contact Millie Fellingham, 283-0402, ext. 203.
