Duryea's Opens This Friday

You know that summer is just around the corner when Duryea's Lobster Deck in Montauk opens. The casual outdoor take-out seafood spot opens this Friday, and will offer lunch Friday through Sunday, beginning at 11:30 a.m. As weather permits, dinner hours will be added, and it will move to a daily schedule.

Duryea's offers everything from lobster rolls to steamers, to broiled shell steaks and hamburgers for landlubbers. Call 668-2410.

Beer Tasting At Publick House

The Southampton Publick House in Southampton will host a beer tasting in conjunction with the Slow Food organization, tomorrow at 7 p.m. Brewmaster Phil Markowski will teach beer lovers about the colors, scents, flavors, and alcohol content of all the beer on tap! The brewskis will be paired with hors d'oeuvres, courtesy of chef Carl Holfelder. The event is free, but a $10 donation is suggested to Slow Food, which is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to supporting and celebrating the food traditions of America.

The Publick House will also celebrate Secretaries Day next Wednesday, with a special ladies night in the Tap Room starting at 9 p.m. Drink specials will feature Kentucky Strong Bourbon. There will also be T-shirt giveaways. Call 283-2800.

JL East Chef Gives Demonstration

Chef Peter Dunlop, of JL East, will give a cooking demonstration at Loaves and Fishes Cookshop in Bridgehampton on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. Free! Call 537-6066.
