Game Highlights:

Riverhead's Jim Senatore went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI and teammate Rich Vlacci went 3-for-5 with two RBI and three runs scored as Riverhead defeated Mattituck in non-league play.

Friday April 7, 2006

Pierson/Bridgehampton 8, Southold/Greenport 4

Game Highlights:

Julian Rossow-Greenberg went 2-for-2 with an RBI and a walk and Dan DePetris delivered a two-run single in the third inning to stretch the Whalers' lead to 7-2. Pierson is 2-2 in League VIII.

Mattituck 7, Elwood/John Glenn 3

Game Highlights:

Chris Rauseo delivered the game-winning hit for the Tuckers in the top of the eighth inning when he hit a scorching line drive single to score Donald Fehey, snapping a 3-3 tie. Alex Sirico had another huge performance for Mattituck, going 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

Riverhead 16, Copiague 4

Game Highlights:

Mark Miloski went "big fly" twice for the Blue Waves as the star slugger deposited two home runs over the fence and drove home five runs while Charlie Zilnicki had his best game of his career at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three runs scored.

Mattituck 9, Elwood/John Glenn 2

Game Highlights:

Kyle Pumillo pitched a gem for the Tuckers, striking out seven Knights batters while scattering only three hits and one earned run over six innings as Mattituck improved to 2-0 in League VII. Pat Claire provided some pop for the Tuckers offense, going 3-for-3 at the plate with one RBI.

Senior pitching ace Annie Stype threw a four-hitter with five strikeouts and three walks to record her first shutout of the season and Alex Hyland delivered a bases-loaded, three-run triple in the third inning as Mattituck pushed seven runs across the plate.
