Old And New Treasures
The Bridge Hampton Historical Society has opened its Spring 2006 with an eclectic display of items not normally viewed by the public. Among those items are a heritage silverware and a silver milk pitcher made c. 1800, a stunning Mother of Pearl and Ivory Fan, a Persian Lamb Shrug, children's clothing from 1850-1900, adult costumes including a wedding dress worn by Horatia James in 1900, a "potato face" potato sack celebrating Bridgehampton's favorite pastime, and a very special Orlando Beers' painting just recently restored.
The Bridge Hampton Historical Society is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Spring Exhibit will be on display during those hours at the historic Corwith House. Call 537-1088.
The exhibit "Power Dressing: Men's Fashion and Prestige in Africa" will be displayed at The Parrish Art Museum in Southampton through May 28. The survey of African men's dress brings together 50 spectacular examples spanning the continent, from Morocco to South Africa, representing a century of fashion.
Warhol To Mapplethorpe
The Spring Group Exhibition at the Vered Gallery in East Hampton features paintings, sculptures, photographs, and works on paper by Pablo Picasso, Robert Mapplethorpe, Steven Klein, Man Ray, Milton Avery, Tom Wesselmann, Andy Warhol, and others. The exhibit will run through May 22. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Sunday, and Monday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday. Call 324-3303 for more info.

Catching The Moment
An exhibit of photographer Peter Moore will be displayed at The Quogue Library for the month of April. Known for his nature photographs, "Catching the Moment" is instead a series of color photographs taken in front of the Guggenheim Museum. The photographer is unobserved to capture the interaction and solitude . . . thoughts, feelings, and dreams, we're told. A reception will be held beginning at 3 p.m. and is open to the public. Photography In Southold

Poetry month continues at Canio's Books in Sag Harbor, with Kathryn Levy reading from her premier collection of poetry, Losing the Moon at 6 p.m.
Hot Blues And Jazz
Blazz, an evening of hot blues and jazz, with the Gail Storm quintet and special guest Joe Vicino will be held at the Vail-Leavitt Music Hall in Riverhead at 8 p.m. It will be a live, recorded event. Tickets are $20; $25 at the door.
