Crazy Monkey

The Crazy Monkey Gallery in Amagansett features the art of three members, Bobbie Braun, Anna Franklin and Dianne Marxe. An opening reception takes place on Saturday from 5 to 7 PM. In addition to the featured artists, there will also be a group show on view, presenting the works of the artists' cooperative members: Andrea McCafferty, Daniel Schoenheimer, Barbara Bilotta, June Kaplan, Ellyn Tucker, Bob Tucker, Mark E. Zimmerman, Lance Corey, Beth O'Donnell, Melissa Hin, Beth Barry, Sheila Rotner, Bo Parsons and Richard Mothes. The show runs through August 31.

Juried Fine Art Show

The 20th Annual Juried Fine Art Show to the Montauk Green will take place this weekend, Friday through Sunday. Each year the Juried Fine Art Show on the Montauk Green is graced with beautiful and original creations of artists that have become dear friends over the years intermixed with the extraordinary work of artists new to the event. Silas Marder Gallery

Silas Marder Gallery in Bridgehampton presents Jason Middlebrook with "Every Tree is a Map," a solo exhibition of recent painting and sculpture. The show opens Saturday and is on view through September 14. A reception for the artist will be held on Saturday from 5 to 8 PM.

Megan Euell

The 1708 House in Southampton presents an opening reception for Megan Euell "Paintings and Drawings from The Hamptons and Europe" on Saturday from 6 to 8:30 PM. The show runs through September.

Norma Jean Pilates

Norma Jean Pilates in Sag Harbor, in association with Aureus Contemporary Gallery, presents the opening of a new group exhibition featuring three contemporary women artists, Claire Shegog, Sara Carter, and Elise Wehle. The exhibition is on view now through September 14.

Charlie Jacobs

Gail Rothwell Ltd presents a photo exhibition for Charlie Jacobs. An opening reception takes place on Saturday from 6 to 7:30 PM.

Saboteurs

The East Hampton Historical Society presents "June 13, 1942:  Saboteurs Land in Amagansett" at the Clinton Academy Museum. The show runs through October 13.

Gil Ferrer

"Gil Ferrer: Organic Marine Scapes" is at the Art Gallery at the Quogue Library through August 31.

Gil Ferrer is an artist and photographer who lives in Southampton. 

Robert Motherwell

Guild Hall presents "Robert Motherwell: The East Hampton Years, 1944-1952." The show is devoted to the paintings Motherwell made during those remarkable years has never been mounted. Focusing on sixteen important works from major museums and three private collections, the show will surprise even those who think they know this pioneering American abstractionist's art well.

The show is on view through October 13.

Colin Christian

Vered Gallery presents "Cosplay," an exhibition of new works by renown sculptor Colin Christian. This eagerly awaited exhibit will be the artist's first solo show in the US in three years. Cosplay, short for "costume play" is the inspiration for Christian's newest series of work. In Cosplay, Christian enthusiastically tackles the monumental task of reimagining some of the most iconic characters from film, literature and pop culture.

Amagansett Art

The Amagansett Historical Association presents "Amagansett Art: Across the Years." The exhibition presents the work of artists who have lived and worked in Amagansett or have used Amagansett as their inspiration.

A few of the many artists included are Scott Bluedorn, Ralph Carpentier, Elliott Erwitt, Sue Gussow, Toby Haynes, Elizabeth Levine, Claire Nivola, Joe Pintauro, Ken Robbins, Anne Seelbach, and Michelle Stuart. The four curators of the exhibit are Elena Prohaska Glinn, Nina Gillman, Jeanie Trusty Stiles, and Isabel Carmichael.

The exhibition will remain open through September 14.

North Fork Annual

The Southold Historical Society is hosting an exhibition of paintings and sculpture as part of the first annual "North Fork Annual," a juried art exhibition that will feature a $500 purchase prize that will be awarded to the best artwork in the exhibit. The show runs through August 23.

Kiss The Sky 

Dodds & Eder Home Gallery & Outdoor Sculpture Garden in Sag Harbor presents "Excuse Me While I Kiss The Sky," featuring artists Sydney Albertini, Rachel limi, Dalton Portella, Kate Petrone and Richard Vaux. The show runs through Monday.

Invitational Exhibit

The Springs Improvement Society is pleased to announce The 47th Annual Artists of Springs Invitational Exhibit at Ashawagh Hall. The show is curated by Sue Ferguson Gussow. It runs through Sunday.

The Call Of The Sea

Monika Olko Gallery in Sag Harbor presents "The Call of the Sea," showcasing the latest works of Christine Matthäi and Kia Andrea Pedersen. The show is on view through August 22.

Pollock's Champions

Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center in Springs presents "Pollock's Champions," an exhibition examining the influence of the three art dealers -- Peggy Guggenheim, Betty Parsons, and Sidney Janis -- who represented Jackson Pollock during his lifetime. The show runs tomorrow through October 31.

A Light in Harlem

 "A Light in Harlem," is on display at the Richard J. Demato Gallery in Sag Harbor. Author, illustrator, and artist Kadir Nelson looks back on African American subjects during a hotbed of culture and creation, with slices of life from the Harlem area of Northern Manhattan. The show runs through August 22.

TACTILITY

"TACTILITY," works by Darlene Charneco, Carol Hunt, Dennis Leri, and Will Ryan are on display at Southampton Cultural Center's Levitas Center for the Arts through Saturday. The theme of the exhibition, "Tactility," refers to that which is tactile: real or suggested.

The Leiber Collection

The Leiber Collection in Springs exhibits an extensive retrospective collection of Judith Leiber handbags, representing her creative output from the late 1940s to the mid 1990s. The exhibition will run through Labor Day weekend. Visit www.leibermuseum.org.

William Glackens

The Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill presents William Glackens, the first comprehensive survey of the artist's work since 1966 through October 13. The exhibition spans Glackens's career from the 1890s through the 1930s, with more than 70 important paintings and works on paper from some of America's finest private and public collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco, the National Gallery of Art, and the Cleveland Museum, among others. Several works in the exhibition are on view to the public for the first time since 1966.

Waterscapes

On view through August 14, at Quogue Gallery is "Waterscapes," showcasing photographs by Barbara Vaughn.

Aubrey Grainger

Aubrey Grainger's new oil painting, Corwith Farms II, is on display at Pritam & Eames in East Hampton through August 15.

Deconstructing Sayre Barn

Southampton Historical Museums and Research Center presents "Deconstructing the Sayre Barn: Photographs by Ulf Skogsbergh," an exhibit of highly detailed oversize photographs featuring what Skogsbergh found to be the most fascinating phase of the reconstruction of the Southampton Historical Museum's Sayre Barn, its deconstruction. Bridgehampton Past and Present, an exhibition that takes place through September 18, is on display at the Bridgehampton Museum.

Arlene Slavin's "Intersections" is on display at Guild Hall in East Hampton. The new series features sculptures and paintings with pencil, diagonal, grid-based with layers of lush, translucent stained colors. The show runs through October 13. Visit www.guildhall.org. 

LongHouse

LongHouse in East Hampton presents the exhibit "exteriors, the explosion of outdoor furnishings." It is the largest exhibit in the foundation's history, with entries from countries across the world. The exhibit displays all aspects of outdoor living. Runs through October 11.
