Montauk Green Art Show

The 6th Annual Memorial Day Weekend on the Montauk Green Art Show takes place Friday through Sunday. Artists from around the country and overseas journey to Montauk to create an outdoor gallery of extraordinary fine art. The festival opens Friday from 10 AM to 6 PM. Springs Improvement Society

Springs Improvement Society presents the 30th Annual Members Show this Memorial Day Weekend at Ashawagh Hall. An opening reception will take place Friday from 5 to 8 PM. $5 admission. Wine and hors d'oeuvres. All proceeds go toward the maintenance of Ashawagh Hall.

Art On The Lawn

The Hampton Bays Historical & Preservation Society will be hosting Art on the Lawn Memorial Day weekend, Saturday through Monday at the Prosper King House. This art show and sale will feature local artists and photographers. Visit www.hbhps.org to preview artwork on sale during this event. Inside the PKH, a display honoring local veterans on the 70th Anniversary of D Day.

SH Artists Association

The Southampton Artists Association will host its annual Memorial Day Show starting today and running through Sunday, June 1. The exhibit will be held at the Levitas Center for the Arts at the Southampton Cultural Center. A reception will take place Sunday from 4 to 6 PM where you can meet many of the exhibiting artists, and also view the spectrum of art work including photography, painting, sculpture and mixed media.

Down To Earth

Artist Lily Almog's "Down To Earth" will open at Vered Gallery this weekend. A reception for the artist will take place Saturday evening from 9 to 11 PM. The exhibition runs thru June 18. As an artist, Lily Almog has worked primarily through photography in environmental portraiture. The experimental direction of "Down to Earth" presents new views of engagement with landscape as it integrates various forms of land use; its leisure activities and suburban life. Her works are represented in permanent collections of major museums such as SF MOMA and the V & A in London.

Here Comes the Sun

East End Arts presents a special art show at the Remsenburg Academy, titled "Here Comes the Sun" featuring five exceptional East End Arts member artists. An artists reception will take place on Friday from 5 to 7 PM. The show runs through June 1.

I Remember It Differently

"Gordon Stevenson: I Remember It Differently," opens at the Tripoli Gallery in Southampton with a reception on Saturday from 6 to 8 PM. The show runs through June 16. Through selected fragments from the cartoons of our childhood, Stevenson engages both the child and adult in all of us. Playful and cerebral moments frozen in time illuminate portrayals of love, from the nurturing to the romantic, as well as some of the tongue-in-cheek humor we may have missed earlier on.


Arlene Slavin's "Intersections" opens at Guild Hall in East Hampton on Monday. The new series features sculptures and paintings with pencil, diagonal, grid-based with layers of lush, translucent stained colors. The show runs through October 13. Visit www.guildhall.org. 


Don Duga

World famous artist and animator Don Duga is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Beatles 1964 U.S. invasion with a Beatles art exhibit and sale. The exhibit will run through the month of May at the new JC's Cafe and Lounge in Riverhead, within the Green Earth Natural Foods Market complex.

The Seduction Of Victor

Monika Olko Gallery in Sag Harbor presents "The Seduction of Victor," Victor Friedman Photography on view tomorrow through June 5. Victor Friedman's images include NYC street scenes to lyrical cubistic compositions, capturing the emotions and heart of an era and its ageless beauty for eternity.


LongHouse in East Hampton presents the exhibit "exteriors, the explosion of outdoor furnishings." It is the largest exhibit in the foundation's history, with entries from countries across the world. The exhibit displays all aspects of outdoor living. Runs through October 11.

Paws & Reflect

"Paws & Reflect," an Animal Art Show to benefit the Southampton Animal Shelter, is at the Richard J. Demato Fine Arts Gallery in Sag Harbor. The show features animal art by local well known artists. A percentage of the proceeds of all sales will go to help the homeless pets. The show runs through May 29.  


The Crazy Monkey Gallery in Amagansett features the art of one of its long time members, Beth Barry, and the art of a guest artist, Lieve Thiers, in the show "Freestyle." The title of the show indicates the abstract, playful nature of the artists' works. The show runs through June 2. Also on view, a group exhibit of art by Andrea McCafferty, Barbara Bilotta, Daniel Schoenheimer, Jim Hayden, Mark E. Zimmerman, Bobbie Braun, Lance Corey, June Kaplan, Ellyn Tucker, Beth O'Donnell, Bo Parsons, Richard Mothes and Melissa Hin.

Rosalind Brenner

An exhibition by Rosalind Brenner at the Madelle Hegeler Semerjian Gallery in the lower level of the Rogers Memorial Library in Southampton is on display through May 30.

Rosalie Dimon Gallery

An art show featuring Anahi DeCanio and Michael Maas is on display at the Rosalie Dimon Gallery at the Jamesport Manor Inn. Presented by East End Arts. An opening reception will take place on June 1 from 3 to 5 PM. The show runs through July 30. Visit www.eastendarts.org.

Early Girl Farm

"Photographs from Early Girl Farm," works by Andrea Parker, is on display at the Art Gallery at the Quogue Library. The show runs through May 28.    

Jennifer Bartlett

The Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill presents Jennifer Bartlett: History of the Universe. The show will run through July 13.

Art & Furniture

The Art & Furniture of Mark Larson & Dan Cramer opens the 2014 season at Pritam & Eames in East Hampton and can be viewed through July 8. The Minnesota-based artists have collaborated on a series of furniture pieces for their show, which also include paintings and bowls by Mark Larson. Gallery hours are Friday and Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM and Sunday from noon to 4 PM.
