Writers Speak Wednesdays

Stony Brook Southampton MFA in Creative Writing and Literature presents Writers Speak Wednesdays. Tonight, an MFA reading at 7 PM. Visit www.stonybrook.edu.

Fridays at Five

Bridgehampton's Hampton Library and Friends of the Library with be celebrating 30 years of Fridays at Five on Saturday. There will be a cocktail party in the library with special guests, including former directors and presidents of Friends of the Library. The event will start at 4:30 PM with a panel discussion moderated by Steve Gaines. Writers who have been participants in past Fridays at Five will include Linda Bird Francke, Paul Goldberger, Gail Sheehy, and Bill Henderson. They will discuss publishing: then, now and in the future, and their experiences in past library programs. The party will continue after the panel with food and wine. Tickets are $20 and are on sale now at the Hampton Library. 

Counter Clockwise Ensemble

Southampton Cultural Center presents The Counter Clockwise Ensemble on Saturday at 7 PM. The Counterclockwise Ensemble is a guitar, strings and percussion quintet that plays contemporary American chamber music. Tickets are $20 general admission and $10 for students under 21. Poetry Pairs

Poetry Pairs takes place on Saturday at 7:30 PM at Guild Hall in East Hampton. Grace Schulman and Toi Derricotte will read. Produced by Fran Castan. A book signing with a wine and dessert reception will follow the reading. Visit www.guildhall.org.
