Guild Hall in East Hampton presents a gallery talk with Artist Christa Maiwaldon Sunday at 2 PM.
Host Maziar Behrooz will moderate a discussion with Thomas Phifer and Partners principal, Thomas Phifer, and partner Gabriel Smith, about the firm's singular approach to architecture in Quiet Architecture, the second installment of AIA Peconic's Architectural Sessions at the Parrish in Water Mill. The event will take place Friday at 6 PM, in the Museum's Lichtenstein Theater. Tickets to the program are $10, free for members, children, and students, and include Museum admission. Group Art Show
The Retreat, the only non-profit domestic violence agency serving the East End of Long Island for over 26 years, has announced the Top 25 artists who will be featured in a group show opening on Saturday at the Richard J. Demato Fine Arts Gallery in the heart of Sag Harbor.
Submissions of photography, painting, mixed media, graphics, drawing, 2D, 3D, and sculpture came from around the globe including Israel, Russia, Sweden, and all across the United States. Jurors for this year's competition included Sara Nightingale, owner of the Sara Nightingale Gallery in Water Mill and Scott Sandell, Visual Arts Director of Stony Brook University (Southampton campus). The art show will run through November 20.
Art By Architects
AIA Peconic, a chapter of the American Institute of Architects, will host an event at the Southampton Center featuring art by architects, Member Firm Project Exhibit, and the Daniel J. Rowen Memorial Awards Program. The show runs through December 1. Visit www.aiapeconic.org.
